Our Association began back in the 1960's when a need for foster families to get together and work with each other to help each other find quality and consistancy in their families. With the need to find more homes for children in need, and the need to find and retain families became a necessity, the group was formed.

The History or Story Behind Our Site
In 1999 our group found the opportunity to apply for a grant through the New York State Citizen's Coalition for Children. We applied and obtained the grant. With the grant came funds and computer equipment making it possible for our Association to start a support group for Foster/Adoptive Parents. With our computer perspective foster/adoptive families can go to sites and find children with a brief personal history that are available for adoption. Our computer has also made it possible for us to start this site to help others become aware of the resourses available for those who chose to utilize this site.

NYSCCC
The grant that we received to start our support group was made possible through a project called, CoalitioNet. Networking for Adoption is a three-year demonstraqtion project of the NYS Citizens'Coalition for Children. The project is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Children's Bureau's "Adoption Opportunities" program.
